As CMO and co-founder at Webblen, a B2B2C web3 startup that rewards users for attending events using crypto. I successfully built a community around the highly technical web3 mobile application. As a one-person marketing department, I was responsible for all of Webblen's product marketing, including website and graphic design, public relations, brand strategy, and content management. In doing so, I drove 30,000+ users to download the Webblen mobile app, grew the WBLN token to $300,000+ in liquidity, and amassed an online community of 50,000+ individuals - all with zero marketing spend.
Like many network based businesses, Webblen faced the classic "Chicken & Egg" problem. Local businesses were only interested in using Webblen if users in their area had the app. Meanwhile, users only received value when events and offers were posted by local businesses. This is a notoriously difficult challenge to overcome. I worked directly with the CEO to create creative campaigns and strategies to onboard both audiences simultaneously.
In the end, I designed a flywheel inspired by other network businesses including Shopify and OnlyFans.
Webblen.io was built off of a classic SaaS structure meant to pull in customers through advanced SEO, clear CTAs and a simple sales funnel collecting contact information along the way. Through this method, we grew the Webblen mobile app from zero to +30,000 users and with an email list of +11,000.
In the web3 space, community building is critical to any project's success. As the primary community manager, I was responsible to mustering and nurturing a dedicated community that was committed to the success of the Webblen Network. Doing so required a deep understanding of the needs, desires, and pains of the web3 community. By empathetically communicating with the community and genuinely asking for feedback, I successfully established a community of 50,000+ members.
As a founding member of the Webblen team and lead designer, I was responsible for designing the user interface and optimizing the user experience for the desktop and mobile app. I worked directly with the Webblen development team and freelance developers to design optimized user experiences.
Prototypes of the Webblen products were designed in Figma.
Visual branding is critical to any company's success. Though color, composition and form, a visual brand communicates the values of a company to its audience.
I never received a formal education in design. Instead, I dedicated countless hours to learn the necessary skills to create a visually appealing brand.
Below is an assortment of various brand assets that I created for Webblen in my tenure at the company.
